PODS has horrible customer service! - PODS STORAGE & MOVING
PODS is HORRIBLE!
I called PODS to help me with a last-minute move from San Francisco to West Hollywood for for a work relocation. Their sales rep said the only day they could come was the very next day, and they needed my credit card to take a deposit. I needed this to move quickly so I gave the card info.
After being charged the deposit, I was told by the sales rep that West Hollywood city ordinance did not allow for PODS to be placed on the street and my only option would be to drive 30 miles to their storage facility to pick up my things (doesn't this defeat the purpose of PODS?). So obviously I no longer wanted their service. Disappointed, I looked for a traditional moving company and moved on from PODS, never signing the contract online they said I needed to sign to confirm my order.
The day before my move, despite never signing anything with PODS, they called me to get me to sign the paperwork. I said I was not using their service, and I was informed that I would now be charged $199 for "canceling". I was fairly confused, but their "customer service" rep was no help - and in fact fairly aggressive on the phone. Unable to provide even the slightest bit of sympathy, forwarded me to a "Supervisor" which was just a voicemail inbox. I left multiple voicemails and never got a call back. I'm still amazed at how awful this experience was.
AVOID PODS AT ALL COSTS. They'll find any way to screw you out of your money.
