  • Break property

Pods hold no responsibility to bringing your property back to you the same way they receive it I will never use this company again for anything. The service is no professional at all. We opened our container with broken China cabinet legs completely off and every picture frame in the container that was packed in bubble wrap and heavy towels were broken into pieces. But container was not dropped so please tell me how it happened. Their reason I packed my things wrong how did you know did you open the container no. More...

  • Pods won't deliver my container

I have had my furniture stored in a pod for 2 years since we were relocating but not sure where to. Not once did PODS mention they have unserviceable areas. I called to have my pod delivered to St. John IN and they said they don't deliver there, even though it is listed on their website and only 30 miles from my old location! They were very rude and unprofessional as well, telling me I have to rent a truck and unload the container myself and they will not help me in any way and have no interest in finding any other solution. I will tell everyone I know to stay away from this company. More...

  • Customer Service - Exec Mgt Knows Nothing About It

I spent nearly an hour on hold for cust svc to arrange delivery of my PODS from storage. I went through all the delivery planning with the rep and was disconnected at the very end when I thought we were done. A week later I discovered that nothing was scheduled. The cust svc notes stated we were cut-off. We were done! I asked why he didn't call me back, if there was a problem --- it's because their cust svc reps can't call out. He could have sent me an e-mail, but did nothing. I was charged for another month and had to go through scheduling again. Now they say... More...

  • Terrible Business Practices and Useless Customer Service

First and LAST time I will use PODS.The only positive experience I had with them was with the drop off and pickup. Other than that, I have spent the last 8 months fighting with them over billing. For a service that you pay $220 a month for, you would expect MUCH MUCH better back end system that wouldn't randomly charge your bank account for stuff that had already been paid for 6 months prior. I almost hated getting out of bed to check my bank account and POD account because I knew it would result in me having to call customer service and have them "fix the issue" by... More...

  • Screwed by PODS

I cannot recommend PODS. Their customer service is friendly and helpful when you start the whole process but ultimately it will be the most expensive choice for moving you could possibly make. I started out confident things would go smoothly with my move, however, the driver arrived 2 hours before their delivery window and I could not be there and due to my apartment complexes regulations I could not have the PODs pod delivered close to my home (it ended up being 1/4 mile away). When I tried to cancel and return the pod, they told my I would be charged for it and the 1st month's... More...

It will be impossible to recommend POD%u2019s to any family, friends or business associates due to the inaccurate quoting, billing and customer service that they provide. The PODS themselves never fit the actual room sizes that they say so you should always expect you to have to add-on to your existing order. We are currently dealing with an issue for our international move regarding inaccurate billing and compounding the issue is nonresponsive and inadequate customer service to address the issues. The all-in quote that I discussed with the representative in great detail was materially... More...

  • pods not delivering on the date they promised.

I am beyond furious with this company at the moment! I will write as many bad reviews as I can until this issue get's fixed which it won't! I scheduled a drop off for tomorrow several weeks ago, "but for some reason they don't have that on file" and are saying they can't deliver it until the 8th which is 8 days later! Yeah right...so am I and my family suppose to sleep on the ground for a week and not have our things!? • Over priced and inconvenient

$180 for monthly storage, the price there alone is bonkers. Finding a drop off time isn't too difficult but the closest pick up date I could get was 10 days later. Not OK in a congested neighborhood. They also don't pro-rate their monthly fee, so I just had to pay full price for a week of storage. Their phone system is extremely frustrating. Pods are an unnecessary headache and not worth the money. Don't make the same mistake I did. More...

  • Bogus late charges from PODS who apparently is living in the 19th century.

So these guys take down a credit card number, put it on file saying you will be charged on X date, but then don't actually charge it, and don't contact you by email either. No, they send snail mail to tell you that they are charging a $20 late fee because they never bothered to actually charge the card I gave them. So, apparently, there is actually NO WAY to have it automatically charge your card on a monthly basis like every other legitimate business out there. No, you have to remember when your bill is due and go log in and pay it every time otherwise you get nicked $20.... More...
  • Most expensive with incredibly bad customer service

Hi, Let me start by saying that a -5 star would be appropriate here. What ever you do, NEVER choose PODS for your move. I paid over $6,000 and I am still stuck in this night mare for months. Worst, every time you call them you have to wait, most times 1:06:15hrs on the phone to talk to somebody, just for her to tell me that she needs to transfer me again (and wait 45min). • PODS has horrible customer service!

PODS is HORRIBLE! I called PODS to help me with a last-minute move from San Francisco to West Hollywood for for a work relocation. Their sales rep said the only day they could come was the very next day, and they needed my credit card to take a deposit. I needed this to move quickly so I gave the card info. After being charged the deposit, I was told by the sales rep that West Hollywood city ordinance did not allow for PODS to be placed on the street and my only option would be to drive 30 miles to their storage facility to pick up my things (doesn't this defeat the purpose of... • PODS seems to change quote for pickup and redeliver.

Has anyone been quoted free delivery and redeliver because of the length of storage and a promo code of "Bundle" when you placed your order with PODs? I've had my possessions in storage since Aug.2011 and have paid over $14,000 for the 2 largest PODs. I think this is an incredible amount, but I needed to do what I had to do. All in al, I'm very happy with the services they provide, my only concern is the one described. • PODS - Terrible Customer Service and Dishonest Billing

I had used PODS last year for renovations and had a great experience working with the local rep in Pittsburgh. When my family was moving this summer, I tried to contact the rep and got no response after multiple calls. I was stuck with calling the corporate number and got TERRIBLE customer service. I called and requested that my POD be picked up on 8/20/14 and was then billed $150 for the time period from 8/22/14 to 9/21/14 even though I was no longer using the POD and it was just sitting and waiting to be picked up for a couple days. • PODS overcharges, refuses refunds

The PODS sales rep convinced me to schedule the POD delivery to a parking lot instead of the street (I thought the parking lot would be too small). When the driver arrived, he could not fit the POD in the parking lot. He could not put it in the street because I had no permit, so I had to reschedule delivery for the next day once I could get a permit. The truck driver said I would not be charged, the customer service rep that rescheduled delivery said that I would not be charged. I was charged $93 dollars. • PODS is a garbage company

I used this service to move the contents of my apartment from one city to be stored at another when I was in between jobs. The first part went smoothly, but when I just called to schedule delivery to my new apartment, things quickly got ugly. PODS is a franchise company so if you move somewhere between two locations, they will charge you 3-4 times the delivery costs because you have to close one account and open another one. They wanted to charge me $1000 to move 100 miles. Also said "had you called yesterday, you would've saved $200 in monthly charges." I spent 2 hours on... More...

  • PODS Cost me more than I was told!

PODS charged me for delivery on a specific day to my apartment in Boston. Less than 24 hours before it was due to arrive I was told that it'd be late . . . and then I was told it'd be even more late. They said the right way to deal with this was to file a complaint with them, which I did, and that they'd be in touch in couple of weeks to cover my excess expenses. It's been over a month and I haven't heard back. The summary of my story is that they did not give me adequate information about their delivery practices and I paid 2 years for a POD (I picked the company FOR their pick up and delivery) only to have them pick up but not deliver. It went even further downhill due to the nonexistence of customer service. My case has been ongoing since mid-May. • wrong placement, poor customer phone service, and overbilled

I own an office that is rented out and damaged due to broken frozen sprinkler system. My property manager ordered a cleaning company for the damage. The cleaning company ordered a POD for some of the office furnishings to be stored in during the renovation. This is when the PROBLEMS began. First - the POD was placed three offices down in front of a Dentist when there was plenty of room in the back (a more appropriate place). They do this for a living and should know that. Second - I could never talk to a helpful person about the situation because it was in cleaning company's name. It... More...

My husband and I were very happy with our experience with PODS. We loaded up a POD with stuff we didn't need in order to stage our house for sale. Then, it was picked up, stored at a PODS facility and delivered a few weeks later to our new home. It was a great solution for us. Overall, we were very happy with our experience. At first, I was very happy with PODS as their quote was reasonable as compared to traditional movers. However, once you get into their system (receive the POD), it becomes a game of constant changes in price and phone calls with customer service. While I have to give PODS credit for resolving my issues as we went along, it was only because the additional costs they tried to get me to pay were wrongfully charged due to their own employee's mistake. Well, I will chime in with my two cents even though it is no different than everyone else's horror story. In short, I will not be using PODS ever again nor will I EVER suggest that anyone use them. The rep lied to me about their insurance, and they damaged my big screen (55") TV. It appears to have possibly bounced during their transportation of my goods from across the country. Their insurance only covers acts of God in the event that THEIR pod is damaged. We used our PODS storage for 4 monthes after our home was flooded when 2 broken pipes busted in our home. They were quick to get us a POD delivered to our home and set up a payment to be taken out monthly. Which was nice to not have to think about while we were trying to repair our home. Scheduling pick up was easy and they showed up within the 1/2 hr after they called to say they were on their way. Was considering a home project and was concerned about temporary storage. I noticed a PODS container in the neighborhood and thought that this would be an excellent storage device. Not a minute earlier, nor a minute later. The technology they use for the hydraulic lift they use to move your pod is amazing! Please, what ever you do, NEVER choose PODS for your moving. I have been stuck in this night mare for months. Worst, every time you call them you have to wait.. this time 1:06:15hrs on the phone to talk to somebody.. just for her to tell me that she needs to transfer me again (and wait 45min).
The service is horrible in every way. 1- Is the most expensive of the offerings
2- Customer service is horrible.
3- Shipping/delivery policies are awful. They put every hurdle they can to not deliver your POD or allow you to get your stuff to switch companies. At this point, after paying over $6,000 I just gave up and have been trying to just gain access to my container and use a U-haul truck to get my things out of their pods to a new storage facility.
4- Stories are too long to share here, but believe me its been 6 monhts of issuew after issue, with 45+ min on the phone to try to resolve each one.

I had a great experience with PODS. They delivered and picked up when they said they would. Pricing was good. My only problem was that I had roaches when I recieved the pod and didnt know it right away until I started unpacking the kithen items. I saw one in the packing. I put a bomb in the pod after it was loaded and again after it was picked up. I'm having to pay an exterminator now to get rid of these disgusting bugs. My exterminator said they have a bug bomb that is very strong. If I were to store ANYTHING, ANYWHERE, again I would have them come out and do this for me. Believe me it's worth it. I hope this is helpful to anyone who reads this this.

Our experience with PODS was exceptional! Our preschool had a community-wide yard sale and we needed a place to store donated items for the sale. PODS donated a POD for our event, and we were really impressed with the POD itself and with the staff's professionalism. Drop-off and pick-up of the POD was on schedule and the drivers were courteous and communicative. The drivers had my phone number and didn't hesitate to call and let me know they were on the way, or if they had any questions. PODS also made sure to let me know they needed three free parking spaces in order to put the POD in it's spot and take it away, so I knew to block off the adjacent parking spots. We couldn't recommend PODS enough!

Awesome!!! move from Edmonton to Vancouver. Service perfect, communication with pick up and drop off was right on. I think the way you pack your pod is very important in determining the condition of your furniture when it arrives. This is a company that takes advantage of people trying to save a dollar in bad economy and rips them off. My daughter booked her move with them. She could have had a full service move for $1000 less than PODS charged her,. The company, when I called to complain, didn't dispute that they overcharged people. They know what they do is wrong. They just said the fees were disclosed. They were disclosed but they were like a predatory lender. If you want to move, use a mover based in your state of departure or arrival; use only a company that has its own trucks and employees; no brokers, no agents, no subcontractors. Get a guaranteed written minimum. This company is just horrible horrible value for money, taking advantage of those most in need of saving money.

alpenglo59 says: (8 years ago)
I agree with all of these reviews. PODS is the worst company I have every dealt with. I wish I had read these reviews before I started my nightmare with them. It is interesting that so many others have had similar experiences and have the same complaint of the company having no
remorse or concern to want to right the wrongs they have done. It is a shame this can't be linked to their website to warn unsuspecting future victims.

I used the PODS to move from CA to GA and almost every piece of funiture was damaged. The items were packed tight and tied. Based on the new outside damage to the PODS unit the damage appears to have been done by the driver. It would not surprise me if the POD was not dropped. Based on their contract they are responsible for nothing!!!!! The POD was also dropped off late with no courtesy call.

What a WRETCHED company (right up there with U-Haul actually!)! You have no control over pick-up and delivery days/times, the only ppl you can talk to are the corporate morons who don't know anything and are HORRIBLY rude (I explained to 1 nasty woman that my father JUST DIED & I needed my things asap and she was STILL rude to me and completely unhelpful!). Plus, GOD FORBID you should need to get to your POD at any time while it's in the warehouse...I called in like 8 hours ahead of time and was practically laughed at (um, is it REALLY that hard to find it and put in on the ground???), make sure you call at least 24 hrs ahead...which they do advertise. However they also advertise that you can have them leave your POD out overnight if you aren't able to get to the warehouse by 3:30 in the afternoon when it closes. 1)Who came up with such ridiculous and inconvenient hours?? 2) THEY WON'T LEAVE IT FOR YOU!!

Ugh, what a nightmare...now I"m sitting in my recently deceased father's house without any of my stuff (and no living room furniture)...hopefully they'll actually deliver the POD when they said they would...though I doubt it if my experience is anything like everybody else's on here!

warnoc says: (9 years ago)
PODs central has no control over the local PODs sites to adjust delivery schedules and won't give out the phone numbers to the local PODs handlers. The local PODs sites have total control over delivery schedules which puts the consumer at considerable risk as each individual PODs site schedules as they wish. For us that means the delivery date we were promised by PODs central wasn't honored by the local PODs site. We hired movers and now will have to pay a cancelation fee and try to find new movers as the others are booked up for weeks. We are very angry that PODs won't even try and honor the original delivery date. They said they'd review our phone conversation where they told us we would have our POD delivered and then give us $100 for our trouble if they did give us the wrong date. Bottom line, don't believe the delivery dates that PODs gives you. Expect to wait at least 2 weeks to get your stuff.

NightmareinTX says: (9 years ago)
I have had a horrible experince. First, my PODS were represented to arrive at my new address in 7-9 days (had it in an email), but when it came time - the PODS were not delivered for 3.5 weeks. I was starting a new job with a suitcase of clothes, sleeping on a blow-up mattress. Then/now at time to pick-up the PODS, they will not pick them up for 6 weeks and are charging me for the time. I am fighting it - calling each and every day. Customer service has lied to me on numerous occassions promising me that I will/have been refunded. No refund as of yet - and its been weeks.

I am an attorney - if you you are interested in a lawsuit, let's do it....it's been a nightmare.

Caveat emptor! First, make sure your driveway is wide enough, long enough, and level. The wonderful staff at PODS neglected to inform me about these potential problems. I even asked about how much space was needed and was told that a PODS container will fit in a parking space. While this is true, the unloading mechanism on the truck requires a lot more width than just a single parking space (15 ft wide X 15 ft high). When my driveway proved too narrow, the enterprising PODS delivery driver decided to just drive off with the container rather than leave it curbside. Apparently, PODS requires that a permit be obtained for this, which they didn't mention. I would have been glad to arrange for this had the driver arrived at the scheduled time, between 8 and 11am, which he did not. Thus, at 4:15pm on a Friday, I was already 15 minutes too late to get to my town's municipal building. Customer service was apparently powerless to help me, and wasn't remotely apologetic or concerned. They re-allocated my container and canceled my order without telling me. I spent much of Saturday morning on the phone with a string of unapologetic customer service reps who told me the soonest they could arrange another delivery was Thursday. At this point I utterly lack confidence in PODS to do their job, so I've arranged for storage space and a moving truck from a helpful, local, inexpensive company.

Thanks, PODS, for making our move, which is never easy, that much more stressful!

GREAT move with PODs from GA to TX. Everything on time, safe & sounds, and excellent service.

I hope BonandJer inspected their Pod for damage when it was first delivered for loading. If they didn't, then good luck with the suit. Personal responsibility, people! If you don't do your part, it's going to be hard to prove the other guy botched theirs.

Our PODS container had a gash on the roof and water got inside! Nobody knew, of course, until our PODS was delivered and we opened it to find quite a bit of mildew. We contacted PODS immediately, worked with the rep on the claim, submitted pix, etc. Six months later, they call and offer a third of the amount of the claim we submitted! We are about to sue them. I will keep this site posted.
